I am the second youngest out of my four siblings. I have one brother and three sisters. We were all lucky enough to be born and raised in beautiful Kamloops, British Columbia, Currently, I am living my dream of being enrolled in the Bachelor of Education program at Thompson Rivers University. Ever since I can remember I have dreamed of being an elementary school teacher. As I grew up my passion for teaching and love for children continued to develop. However, in my third year of my undergrad, I became discouraged and changed my path. I started pursuing a Kinesiology degree. I was extremely active at this point in my life and bodybuilding was my passion. I completed all of the prerequisites but was still hesitant about my decision. I gave education one last shot and started tutoring six children. I realized that I was making a mistake going into Kinesiology because of how in love with teaching I was. I knew I would regret not becoming a teacher. I finally gathered enough credentials to apply for the education program. I was in Tofino on a surf trip when I saw that some of my friends had been accepted into the BEd program, I quickly checked my email and I did not receive an acceptance letter. I was devastated and heartbroken but knew I would persevere and apply next year after I had completed my Arts degree. I emailed my TRU advisor and asked what I could do to raise my chance of being selected the following year. To my surprise, my application had been overlooked and withdrawn.  The committee then corrected the mistake and reviewed my application. A few weeks went by and I assumed I hadn’t been selected as a candidate for the program. To my astonishment, I had received an acceptance letter via mail and wept tears of joy when I read the news. I have never been so relieved and exhilarated in my entire life. Fast forward to today, I am in the midst of completing the first year of the BEd program while planning my weddings for this coming summer. It is challenging trying to juggle everything at once, but I love a good challenge.

My hobbies include everything outdoors, especially in sunny weather. I love being warm more than anything. In the summer you can’t find me indoors, you can catch me camping on the weekends, hiking, climbing, swimming, surfing and fishing. I love all things water-related which is ironic because I am not that strong of a swimmer. These activities are extra special to me when my niece and nephews join me. Those three kiddos warm my heart. I am blessed to live in the same city as one of my sisters, her husband and her three kids. My family is the most important to me.
